Company Introduction

JAL Engineering Co., Ltd. is an aircraft inspection and maintenance company in the JAL Group. They have as many as a total of about 4,000 employees.There are also many who are working at overseas airports.

They engage in a crucial job with important mission of supporting the safety in the JAL Group. In a 24-hour 365-day work system, they always work with a sense of urgency and thoroughly check every detail with top priority on safety.260 people are working at its Osaka Aircraft Maintenance Center (in Itami Osaka International Airport ) where they are using our service, 「My Office Café」.

Welfare Programme and Health Management

We spoke with Ms. Takako Maeda, Operations and Safety Group.

To support the safety in the Group, we believe that the physical, mental and social wellbeing of all employees and their families are very important.As such, the company has achieved a certification of White 500, Certified Health & Productivity Management Outstanding Organizations. We have assigned Wellness Leaders in workplaces, actively working on activities such as organising health seminars and information meetings. Our Osaka Aircraft Maintenance Center does not have a canteen and due to its nature, it is difficult for employees to go out once they have started their work. This led us to think about establishing a function of providing easy-to-eat and healthy meals inside the centre. So we did some research at the Welfare Expo held at INTEX Osaka.While there were several companies offering a simple company canteen service, we found that SL Creations was the only company in the Kansai region, including entire Osaka Prefecture, that offered a service in which delivery staff directly replenish their products.The main reason for choosing 「My Office Café」 was its convenience and the provision of healthy meals.

After Introducing the Service

We spoke with Mr. Kensuke Tsunoda, in charge of maintenance, and Mr. Ryosuke Fujita, in charge of public relations.

Our maintenance staff work alternately between two shifts: “Early shift: from early morning until evening” and “Late shift: from evening until late at night.”

In the past, we used to order a catered lunch or stop by at a convenience store on our way to work.We also have vending machines in our site, but they sell out by the evening.

When purchasing some food stuff at a convenience store, I always have to pay more money. 「My Office Café」 offers “tasty and inexpensive food” and it helps me a lot.Actually, I didn’t know that they are healthy food not using synthetic additives. (laughs)　

It might be better if you let people know more about that. My biggest complaint about 「My Office Café」 is that it is so popular that the freezer empties out quickly and so the meals are often unavailable.Pilaffs are particularly popular.

JAL Engineering’s office is located in Itami Osaka International Airport.
